How to register for part-time French courses for Canadian-born persons

You must be available to start your course when you apply. Your course can start quickly, even during the summer.

Information to provide

To register for a part-time French course, you must provide one of these documents:

  • A birth certificate issued by a provincial or territorial vital statistics office in Canada;
  • Certificate of Canadian citizenship issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to Canadian citizens by descent;
  • Certificate of Registration of Canadian Birth Abroad issued by IRCC to Canadian citizens by descent.

Fill out the application form

To register for a part-time course:

  1. Visit the platform Apprendre le français.
  2. Click on the link Cours de français à temps partiel pour les personnes immigrantes et canadiennes de naissance (Part-time French courses for immigrants and Canadian-born individuals).
  3. Create an account on the Apprendre le français platform.
    If you already have an account, log in to it.
  4. Complete the application for admission to a part-time French course for Canadian-born individuals.

Should you need assistance in completing your application, you may contact the training location where you wish to study.

You will be able to save your application and complete it through more than one visit should you need to make any changes before submitting it.

Authorization

If you wish to allow a person (whether belonging to an organization or not) to have access to information concerning your application for admission to a French course or to allow that person to act on your behalf in connection with an application for a French course, you must complete the following authorization: Authorized person or Proxy – Francisation Québec (PDF 220 Kb).
