Improvements to the Loans and Bursaries program 2021-2022

The funding for the Loans and Bursaries program will be increased by $300 million for two award years, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. These improvements will ensure that students’ needs are met and encourage a return to studies, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Allowable expenses will be increased by an additional $96 per month for students who live with their parents and $205 for those who do not live with their parents.

This financial assistance will:

  • support students in the current economic climate
  • foster economic recovery and emergence from the crisis caused by COVID-19
  • encourage the pursuit of and return to studies
