You need the Guarantee Certificate to receive the financial assistance awarded to you. The certificate will be available several days before the start of the session, once your school’s student aid office confirms your student status. You will receive email notification when the Certificate is available in your file, which can be accessed through Online Services. Print the Certificate and bring it to your financial institution.
The Desjardins Group offers you the possibility of transmitting your documents electronically. Go to Government Guaranteed Student Loan to learn how to proceed.
You will not be required to repeat this step for your following sessions unless you suspend your studies for more than six months. Once you have delivered your Guarantee Certificate to your financial institution, your financial assistance will be deposited directly into your account.
The following financial institutions are participants in the Loans and Bursaries Program:
- Desjardins Group
- BMO Bank of Montreal
- Laurentian Bank
- National Bank of Canada
- RBC Royal Bank of Canada
Please note that your branch must be located in Québec.
Students outside Québec
The Guarantee Certificate will be sent to your Québecc mailing address at the start of your first term. You can also choose to designate a person to receive the certificate and bring it to your financial institution on your behalf. If you choose this option, you need to designate this person as your legal representative when you fill out your application for financial assistance.
