Temporary Interruption of Your Studies
If you need to temporarily interrupt your studies as a full-time or deemed full-time student, you may be able to postpone the repayment of your student loan debt.
However, your situation must be recognized by Aide financière aux études. Additionally, you must have been pursuing your studies for at least one month during the six months that preceded the interruption and intend to return to them. The maximum allowed duration of postponement is based on the following situations.
In order to postpone repayment of your student loan debt, you need to fill out the Temporary Interruption of Studies – Application to Postpone the Repayment of a Student Debt form and submit it to us, along with the backup documentation required in your situation, using Online Services.
