College studies
You can obtain, free of charge, the authentication of documents related to college studies done in Quebec.
To apply for the authentication of an Attestation of College Studies (ACS), a College Studies Transcript (statement of marks), or an Attestation of School Attendance, you must first obtain an authenticated version (with the college seal and signature of the person responsible) of these documents from your college.
Once the documents are authenticated by the college, they must be sent to us by you or your college, along with a letter that lists the documents to be authenticated by the Ministère and provides the address to which they are to be sent once authenticated.
Send the documents to the following address:
Direction du soutien aux établissements et de la gouvernance
Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur
1035, rue De La Chevrotière, 12e étage

For the authentication of a DCS, send your diploma, along with a request letter containing the address to which the diploma should be sent once authenticated, to the following address:
Direction du soutien aux établissements et de la gouvernance
Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur
1035, rue De La Chevrotière, 12e étage

If you do not have an original diploma for authentication, you can request a duplicate. To make a request, follow this procedure. Indicate, in the "Comments" section of the form, that the diploma will be used abroad and that an explanatory letter must be provided for this purpose.
Specimen signatures
You can obtain, free of charge, certified specimens of the signatures of persons who are authorized to sign or attest to the authenticity of the official documents pertaining to college studies.
Prepare a written request indicating the service required and providing the full mailing address, and send the request to the following address:

Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur

Québec (Québec) G1R 5A5
Requests will be processed within a maximum of 10 working days.
University studies
The Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur (MES) can authenticate, free of charge, documents related to university studies done in Québec.
Ask your university to submit the following documents, in a sealed envelope, directly to the MES:
- A letter of certification of the university degree (signed by the Registrar or the Secretary General and sealed with the university seal).
- A certified copy of the official transcript.
- A certified copy of the original diploma, but only if the country requires the Ministère’s seal to be affixed to a copy of the diploma. Because the Ministère does not award university degrees, we cannot affix the Ministère’s embossed seal to an original degree awarded and already authenticated by a university.
The documents should be sent to:
Service d’authentification de documents d’études universitaires
Direction de l’enseignement et de la recherche universitaires
Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur
1035, rue De La Chevrotière, 19e étage
Québec (Québec) G1R 5A5
You must indicate the address to which the authenticated documents should be sent.
If the country requesting authentication also requires your documents to be authenticated by the Department of Global Affairs Canada, we can send them to the department free of charge.
Complete and send us the “Request for Authentication Service” form and a pre-addressed, prepaid envelope to the following address:
Service d’authentification de documents d’études universitaires
