The comparative evaluation establishes an overall comparison between two official education systems. The document indicates the educational benchmarks (or main diplomas) and areas of training that can be used to compare studies done abroad. It is neither a diploma nor an equivalency diploma.

A person can be asked to provide this document to, for instance, get a job, join a professional corporation or a regulatory agency, or to pursue studies in Québec.

Québec sans frontières (Québec Without Borders) is an international solidarity program that contributes to the sustainable development efforts of communities in francophone countries. It allows Québec residents aged 18 to 35 to contribute to projects managed by international cooperation agencies and their local partners.

It is possible to get credits for a project: students should ask their educational institution if the project can be credited as part of a college or university program or as an educational activity.

The program for scholarships from foreign governments provides financial support for people who wish to pursue university studies or undertake a research program outside Canada.
