DuoEmploi is a meeting place between businesses and people with disabilities who want to get experience about life in the workplace.
This project from the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale is a partnership with the Regroupement des organismes spécialisés pour l'emploi des personnes handicapées (ROSEPH) and the Conseil du patronat du Québec (CPQ).
The 2022 edition of DuoEmploi was held from June 1 to 7, 2022.
Presentation
In the context of labour shortage, Québec capitalizes on all of its talents. DuoEmploi is an innovative project that aims to put businesses and people with disabilities wishing to acquire work experience in contact with each other. The DuoEmploi project is inspired by the experience of DuoDay, in France.
The event allows a person with disabilities to be put in contact with a business that offers a one-day internship experience allowing them to live a day in a workplace.
During the first and second editions, interns have been hosted by businesses from different sectors of activity, including retail, construction, tourism, computer science, banking, and healthcare. Some of them even found employment at the end of the day.
