Job description
These individuals assist in the treatment of disabilities and injuries through recreation, movement, or art. This group includes specialized therapists, kinesiologists, and mechanotherapy specialists.
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
Main tasks
- Conduct fitness and movement tests and evaluations.
- Review reports from other professionals.
- Determine current and future level of functioning of patients.
- Develop and implement intervention plans, activities (art, music, dance, etc.) and exercises based on health concerns.
- Design and implement specialized therapeutic programs to maintain, rehabilitate, or improve body movement and function.
- Draft reports on patient progress.
- Evaluate the success of intervention plans with other health care professionals.
- Educate individuals about health and injuries.
- Conduct research as required.
