Main tasks
Aircraft Mechanics
- Install, adjust, and repair aircraft systems (e.g. engines) according to specifications and procedures.
- Inspect and repair aircraft structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems.
- Disassemble aircraft systems for repair, overhaul, cleaning, and reassembly.
- Carry out routine maintenance and report on it.
- Order parts and supplies and maintain inventory.
Aircraft Inspectors
- Ensure that aircraft structural and mechanical systems meet performance and safety standards.
- Verify the work of aircraft mechanics to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Maintain detailed reports regarding aircraft repair, inspection, and certification.
Advancement and mobility
- These individuals may add to their Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence attestations and endorsements that allow them to test and certify a wider variety of aircraft and aircraft systems.
Aircraft Mechanics
- Possibility of obtaining positions as Forepersons, Shop Supervisors, or Aircraft Inspectors.
Aircraft Inspectors
- Experience leads to senior positions.
