Job description
These individuals examine clients and make, fit, and adjust removable dental prostheses. Most work in private practice.
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
- Equipment, machinery, tools
Main tasks
- Measure customers’ jaws.
- Take impressions of teeth, gums, and jaws.
- Determine the size and shape of dentures and of the dental prostheses to be made.
- Design, make, insert, fit, repair, and adapt dentures and dental prostheses.
- Make other devices (e.g. prostheses to stop snoring).
- Order X-rays as required.
