Job description

These individuals define the company’s objectives and develop its policies and programs. They also plan and evaluate the organization’s activities. They generally report to a board of directors.

Formation

Numerous training and study programs lead to managerial or executive positions.

Also required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (B.B.A.), a Master’s degree in Business Administration (M.B.A), or a university diploma in Management is required for admission to the Chartered Administrator (Adm.A.) designation.

Sometimes required

  • A university degree or diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science, or other field related to the service is normally required.
  • A graduate degree or diploma is an asset.
  • A professional certification in Accounting is usually required.
  • A mutual fund licence may be required for senior managers in financial services.
  • Several years of experience as an intermediate director in the sectors of financial and business services, among others, are usually required.
  • The designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is usually required. Prerequisites: completion of a Professional Training Program (PTP) and successful completion of the Common Final Examination (CFE) of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec.
