Job description

These individuals run and coordinate nursery and greenhouse staff activities.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Climatic conditions

Main tasks

  • Plan, organize, run, and control nursery and greenhouse activities.
  • Identify the environmental conditions required to grow plants.
  • Develop planting and tending schedules and determine the type and quantity of produce to be grown.
  • Hire, train, manage, and supervise staff and set work schedules.
  • Identify and control insects, diseases, and weeds.
  • Develop marketing plans.
  • Educate clients on gardening techniques and lawn and plant care.
  • Order nursery and greenhouse equipment, products, and accessories.
  • Maintain inventory and financial records.
