Job description

These individuals manage the activities of operating or production services. They work in manufacturing plants.

Environment

Main tasks

  • Plan, direct, control, and evaluate activities or services.
  • Develop and implement schedules and programs to ensure production targets are met.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for factories or production departments.
  • Plan and carry out changes to the production system and work methods.
  • Prepare equipment maintenance schedules; recommend and supervise machine replacement.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff, as required.
  • Maintain inventory of raw materials and finished goods, as required.
  • Provide quality control and draft production reports, as required.
