Job description

These individuals gather and analyze financial information (economic forecasts, capital movements, stock trends, etc.) to provide financial advice to their clients. They work in:

  • Banks
  • Brokerage houses
  • Investment and fund management companies
  • Insurance companies
  • Trust companies
  • Underwriting firms
  • Manufacturing companies
  • Public utilities

Main tasks

Financial Analysts

  • Assess financial risks and prepare financial forecasts and funding scenarios.
  • Draft reports and recommendations.
  • Plan short- and long-term cash flows and assess monetary flow.
  • Analyze investment projects.
  • Participate in the financial component of contracts and tenders.
  • Follow-up of financing records with the financial backers.
  • Develop, implement, and operate financial portfolio management and analysis tools.
  • Develop a periodic risk profile for the debt portfolio.
  • Participate in the preparation of operating and investment budgets.

Investment Analysts

  • Collect and review financial and investment data.
  • Consult financial magazines, securities guides, and financial reports to stay up to date.
  • Give advice and recommend investments.
  • Make economic forecasts for businesses and industries and draft analysis reports.
