Job description

These individuals collect, code, record, review, and manage health information. This group includes supervisors. They work in:

  • Hospitals
  • Clinics
  • Consulting firms
  • Health care facilities

Main tasks

  • File and code diseases according to an established classification system.
  • Collect, code, store, and return health records and other relevant information.
  • Summarize, collect, and analyze relevant data.
  • Keep background documents.
  • Prepare medical, social, and administrative statistics.
  • Supervise technicians and professionals in the field.
