Job description

These individuals provide support and technical services to scientists or engineers. They work in various fields (structural engineering, construction, transportation, environment, etc.). They work for:

  • Consulting engineering firms
  • Construction companies
  • Public works and transportation services
  • Government services

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Develop sketches, specifications, drawings, and plans.
  • Estimate project costs and materials required.
  • Establish work schedules.
  • Write reports.
  • Supervise or direct surveys, topographical inspections and studies, water flow, roads, and structures.
  • Inspect and experiment with building materials.
  • Monitor, control, and inspect construction projects.
