Job description
These individuals use a variety of tools to detect design errors in products. They are employed by a variety of industries (transportation, manufacturers, etc.) and by industrial inspection companies.

Main tasks
- Install and calibrate equipment used for non-destructive testing.
- Develop techniques for testing the product under control.
- Interpret various measurements (radiographs, conductivity measurements, visual indicators, etc.).
- Perform tests according to specifications, standards, and safety instructions.
- Evaluate, compile, and report test results.
- Perform inspections using different test methods (e.g. vibration analysis).
- Provide training and supervision of trainees as required.
