These individuals practise various massage therapy techniques. The purpose of these techniques is to prevent and treat injuries, pain, and physical disorders. These individuals are self-employed or work in:

Main tasks
- Assess people’s condition (soft tissue and joints) by performing movement and strength testing.
- Develop and propose a treatment plan and explain procedures, risks, and benefits to clients.
- Practise various massage therapy techniques.
- Educate clients about techniques and exercises to do at home.
- Maintain records of treatments administered.
- Collaborate with other health care professionals as required.
