Job description

Jewellers make, assemble, repair, and appraise jewelry.

Clock Repairers repair, clean, adjust, and manufacture timepieces.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Equipment, machinery, tools

Main tasks

Jewellers

  • Manufacture and repair jewelry in precious and semi-precious metals.
  • Examine, evaluate, cut, shape, and polish diamonds and precious and synthetic stones.
  • Differentiate stones, identify rare specimens and detect special signs influencing their value.
  • Set precious and semi-precious stones in jewelry frames.
  • Supervise other jewellers as required.

Clock Repairers

  • Manufacture or install timepieces.
  • Dismantle and reassemble clocks and watches to check for defective, misaligned, or rusty parts.
  • Replace or repair worn or broken parts.
  • Evaluate, adjust, and set the clock movements.
  • Clean all parts to remove dirt and dry lubricants.
  • Supervise staff as required.
