Job description

These individuals package customer purchases and fill postal and telephone orders. They put prices on products and stock shelves. They are employed in retail establishments (grocery stores, hardware stores, department stores) and warehouses.

Main tasks

  • Pack customer purchases, prepare packages for delivery, and fill postal orders from the warehouse.
  • Unpack, count, weigh, sort, and record goods received and price them according to a list.
  • Fill the shelves, islands, and displays.
  • Attach protective devices to products to prevent shoplifting.
  • Fetch products from shelves or warehouse as requested by customers.
  • Help customers find the location of products they are looking for.
  • Bring purchases to the parking lot and store them in the customer vehicles.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks as required.
  • Order merchandise, as required.
