Job description

These individuals install and repair power generation and distribution equipment.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Climatic conditions
  • Electricity

Main tasks

  • Install and maintain equipment used to transmit electricity (e.g. transformers).
  • Install and maintain electrical equipment and apparatus in power plants or stations.
  • Inspect and repair electrical equipment and apparatus and replace those which are defective.
  • Complete test and maintenance reports.

Advancement and mobility

  • Experience leads to supervisory positions.
