Job description

These individuals install, maintain, and repair elevators, freight elevators, and escalators.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Read and interpret plans that detail the location of system components.
  • Perform pre-construction work.
  • Attach the cabin frames to the counterweights with cables.
  • Assemble elevator cars.
  • Install and wire electrical and electronic control equipment.
  • Install, adjust, and check safety devices.
  • Check the operation of newly installed equipment.
  • Detect system defects, disassemble defective components, and repair or replace worn parts.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety of people.
