Job description

These individuals drive vehicles whose purpose is to maintain, clear, and ensure the proper functioning of public utilities (sewers, garbage, electricity, etc.).

Main tasks

  • Collect garbage, compost, and recyclable materials and transport them to designated areas.
  • Remove sand and garbage from the streets.
  • Clear snow from streets, parking lots, and similar areas.
  • Maintain and repair the sewage systems.
  • Spread sand on roads.
  • Cut down trees and clear vegetation near power lines.
  • Make sure the power poles are in good condition.
  • Locate utility networks and underground pipes.
  • Maintain and clean service vehicles.
  • Inform (a) supervisor of any defects.

  • Experience leads to supervisory positions.
