Job description

These individuals supervise and coordinate personnel who carry out forestry operations (wood harvesting, construction of forest roads) or silvicultural work (reforestation, thinning, clearing of plantations, etc.). They work for:

  • Tree-cutting companies
  • Contractors
  • Government agencies

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Climatic conditions
  • Hazardous chemical
  • Nontoxic dust
  • Hazardous workplaces
  • Noise

Main tasks

  • Supervise and coordinate personnel related to logging operations at various work sites.
  • Supervise silvicultural operations (e.g. planting and controlling vegetation).
  • Plan teamwork schedules with the equipment and transportation required.
  • Resolve work-related problems and recommend improvements.
  • Educate staff about safety, identify risks, and modify work procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations in force.
  • Draft reports.
  • Hire and train staff
