Job description
These individuals check, grade, and sort raw materials and products in food processing. They ensure compliance with the current standards. They work in:
- Fruit, vegetable, fish, and meat processing plants
- Dairy manufacturers
- Mills
- Bakeries and Pastry Shops
- Breweries
- Sugar refineries
Environment
- Controlled ambient temperature
- Odours
- Noise
Main tasks
- Sample and test products at various stages of processing.
- Sort, grade, and inspect raw materials or finished products.
- Weigh products.
- Ensure that products conform to company standards.
- Ensure that health and safety practices are followed according to policies and regulations.
- Notify supervisors of any deficiencies in raw materials or finished products.
Advancement and mobility
- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
