Presentation and Objectives
The program will support organizations, institutions and partnership networks that provide services to English-speaking communities by providing financial assistance for core funding or for projects of local, regional or national scope.
More specifically, it aims to achieve these objectives, which are specific to issues related to community vitality:
Support the capacity for action of the targeted organizations, institutions and partnership networks by enabling them to sustain the resources dedicated to the implementation of their mission
Broaden access for English-speaking Quebecers to public services
Contribute to the retention of English-speaking Quebecers through employability
The program has two components:
Component 1: Core funding
Grant agreements have a maximum duration of three years from the date of signing
Component 2: Project support
Grant agreements have a maximum duration of two years from the date of signing
Eligibility
Applicants eligible for the program:
Non-profit organizations registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec (REQ) that offer services to English-speaking communities
Cooperatives and social economy businesses registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec (REQ) whose mission is to offer services to English-speaking communities including community businesses under the Cooperatives Act or the Social Economy Act
Municipal entities and public institutions in the education and health and social services sectors. In the case of primary, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions and health and social services establishments, the expenditures must not be covered by the Québec government’s budget regulations
Maximum annual grant
Subject to the budget availability of the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise for each fiscal year in this normative framework, the grant awarded under the program cannot exceed the following amounts for both components:
$100 000 for a local organization
$300 000 for a regional organization
$500 000 for a province-wide organization
Partnership agreements can go up to $2.5 million for a national project.
Please note that the financial assistance granted by the Secretariat corresponds to a maximum of 80% of eligible expenses. A minimum of 20% of eligible expenses must be covered by the applicant or its partners.
