Concerning an institution

If you are dissatisfied with the care and services you have received, or if you believe your rights have not been respected, you can make a complaint.

Learn more about your rights, recourses, and the procedure for filing a complaint by consulting the Health and Social Services Network Complaint Examination page.

You may also contact the Service Quality and Complaints Commissioners of public institutions.

For help with your proceedings, you can consult with a complaint assistance and support centre. This regional community organization is mandated by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux to offer free and confidential services.

The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) honours commitments made in the Service Statement. However, if you are dissatisfied with the services obtained, you can contact the MSSS’s complaint commissioner to inform him or her of your dissatisfaction.

Time limit for processing complaints

Your complaint will be processed within 20 business days or less from the day it was received. If we cannot send you a full and final answer within this time limit, we will inform you of the date that it will be sent to you.

The MSSS’s complaint commissioner receives complaints and comments regarding the commitments contained in the Service Statement and examines them thoroughly and independently.

You can communicate with the complaint commissioner whichever way is most convenient. Your complaint will remain strictly confidential.
