Minister’s Prizes for Higher Education

The Minister’s prizes for higher education recognize the creative power and commitment of innovative college and university teaching staff who implement increasingly effective teaching strategies. These prizes are also intended to encourage the development of French-language educational resources that are effective, adapted and innovative.

Eligibility

To be eligible, candidates must teach at a college or in an undergraduate university program.

Registration period

The registration deadline is November 19, 2021.

List of prizes

The Minister will award prizewinners grants ranging from $1 500 to $10 000, a trophy and a certificate depending on the section.

How to enter

To enter the contest, consult the guide (PDF 652 Kb) (in French only) and fill out the registration form in one of the following three sections:

This section showcases the exceptional quality of educational resources produced for college or undergraduate studies.

It also rewards the scientific quality of pedagogical research reports written for teachers at the college and university levels.

This section has three categories:

  • Original works
  • Pedagogical research reports
  • Complementary educational resources

This section recognizes the competence of educators who are invested in the challenge of creating effective, adapted and innovative learning resources for distance education.

This section has two categories:

  • Asynchronous format
  • Synchronous, hybrid or bimodal formats

This section showcases the creative power of educators working in Québec’s institutions of higher learning and highlights the originality of pedagogical practices that foster their students’ competency development.

More specifically, it focuses on the digital innovation that is transforming post-secondary education by revitalizing teaching practices.

Each educational institution can submit only one nomination in this section.

This section has six categories:

  • Paul-Gérin-Lajoie Prize (College)
  • Guy-Rocher Prize (University, undergraduate level)
  • Digital Innovation Prize (College)
  • Digital Innovation Prize (University, undergraduate level)
  • Commitment to Student Perseverance Prize (College)
  • Commitment to Student Perseverance Prize (University, undergraduate level)
