Examine your mouth and your children's mouths regularly
Pay attention to symptoms of tooth decay. If you notice changes in your teeth, do not hesitate to see your dentist.
At least once a month, examine the inside of your child’s mouth to see if there are cavities. Lift the upper lip to examine your child’s teeth. Also check teeth at the back of the mouth. Look for spots or white lines along the gums as cavities often start there.
