About midwifery services
Midwives are health professionals who provide care during pregnancy, delivery and for up to 6 weeks after birth.
Eligibility to midwifery services
Healthy women with a normal pregnancy are eligible to receive care from a midwife.
Cost of midwifery services
Any woman who has a Québec health insurance card can receive midwifery services free of charge.
Procedure to receive care from a midwife
Appointment, information session, pregnancy follow-up, birth and postnatal follow-up.
