When you file your expression of interest, you declare that you want to hold a job in Québec. You may accept that your profile be visible to Québec companies in the Portail employeurs (Employer portal) search tool. Thus, companies could contact you to recruit you as a temporary or permanent foreign worker.
Employers can search for profiles that correspond to their needs according to criteria such as:
- length of your professional experience;
- your French language skills;
- your level of education;
- etc.
They do not have access to your personal information, such as:
- your last name;
- your first name;
- your sex;
- your contact information;
- etc.
Contact request from an employer
If your profile is selected by an employer, the employer may send you a contact request in Arrima. You must access your Arrima profile to accept or refuse the employer’s request. You have 5 business days to do this.
You may receive contact requests from several companies at a time. It is up to you to choose the companies with which you want to begin a hiring process.
If you accept the contact request, your email address will become visible for the company.
The company then may contact you to begin hiring steps outside the Arrima platform. You do not have any other commitment apart from sharing your email address.
If you refuse the contact request or you do not take any action within the time limit granted, the company will not be able to contact you. Even if you refuse:
- you will continue to appear in the expression of interest bank;
- you can always receive an invitation to submit an application for permanent selection;
- your profile will continue to appear in the searches by new companies looking for temporary foreign workers.

Immigration steps
You may take temporary immigration steps with an employer and permanent immigration steps in Arrima at the same time, as long as your objective is to hold a job in Québec.
The Portail employeurs (Employer portal) does not allow you to accelerate temporary or permanent immigration steps. The immigration steps that follow your contact with an employer may be taken outside the Portail employeurs.
