Demonstrate your financial capacity
You must demonstrate that you have sufficient and available financial resources to honour your undertaking. You must have these resources at the time of application and demonstrate that you will continue to have them for the duration of your undertaking.
Financial capacity for a group of 2 to 5 natural persons
You must demonstrate that you have sufficient financial capacity when submitting your undertaking application.
More precisely, each member of your group must demonstrate they have the required income to meet their own family's needs.
Your group must also demonstrate it has the additional amount required to meet the needs of the person you sponsor, of the family members who accompany that person and of those who do not.
You can use the Financial Capability Self-Assessment Grid for a group of 2 to 5 individuals (PDF 105 Kb) (in French only) to assess your financial capability. This grid should be used as a guide only.
Basic income to meet your family's needs
Here is the basic gross annual income required for each member of your group to meet their own family's basic needs.
The amounts are in effect from January 1 to December 31, 2024. They are adjusted on January 1 of each year.

Additional amount to meet the needs of the sponsored person
Your group must also demonstrate it has the additional amount required to provide for the basic needs of the sponsored person, of the family members who accompany that person and of those who do not.
The financial resources of all the members of your group must be equal to or greater than the amount indicated. In addition, when submitting an undertaking application, each member of the group must declare the amount of the financial contribution to which they are committing, if any.
The total income of all the members of your group must be equal to or greater than the amount indicated.
The amounts are in effect from January 1 to December 31, 2024. They are adjusted on January 1 of each year.
They vary according to the number and age of the persons concerned by your undertaking application.

Financial capacity for a legal person
You must demonstrate you have the annual amount required to meet the basic needs of the person you sponsor and those of the family members who accompany that person.
You will have to demonstrate that you have sufficient financial capacity when submitting your undertaking application.
The amounts are in effect from January 1 to December 31, 2024. They are adjusted on January 1 of each year.
They vary depending on the person you sponsor and their family members.
