Nearly a thousand guests took part in the event to celebrate art and support the development of the museum. The event's theme, ELO LEO, in reference to the Leonard Cohen: Une brèche en toute chose / A Crack in Everything exhibition, gave the guests an opportunity to discover the extraordinary work of the forty-some artists who took part in the exhibition and tour the museum in a unique and elegant atmosphere.

This essential event on Montréal's spring social calendar is well known for its inventive celebratory style, eye-popping themes, trendy attendees and avant-garde tastes. The Printemps du MAC organizing committee, which is made up of young volunteers from the Montréal professional community, brought the event's mission to life, which is to raise awareness about contemporary art among the younger generations and demonstrate the crucial role the MAC plays in protecting and promoting this heritage in Québec, Canada and the world.

The honorary chair of the 2018 edition was Martin-Luc Archambault (AmpMe) and his co-chairs were Alexandra Mohsen (SSENSE) and Stefanie Stergiotis (Transat A.T.). The Fondation du MAC wants to thank them warmly, along with all the members of the organizing committee :

About the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal
Located in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal makes today's art a vital part of Montréal and Québec life. For more than fifty years, this vibrant museum has brought together local and international artists, their works and an ever growing public. It is also a place of discovery, offering visitors experiences that are continually changing and new, and often unexpected and stirring. The Musée presents temporary exhibitions devoted to outstanding and relevant current artists who provide their own, particular insight into our society, as well as exhibitions of works drawn from the museum's extensive permanent collection. They may feature every form of expression: digital and sound works, installations, paintings, sculptures, ephemeral pieces, and more. In addition to its wide range of educational activities familiarizing the general public with contemporary art, the Musée organizes unique artistic performances and festive events. It is a window onto a myriad of avant-garde expressions that extend the reach of art throughout the city and beyond. macm.org/en/
