COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Sept. 30, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 886 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,200,754*;
• 14 new deaths, for a total of 16,784 deaths, i.e.;
• 1 death in the last 24 hours,
• 9 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 4 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;
  NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.

• 3,864 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,671 hospitalizations, including 517 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 8 compared to the previous day;
• 149 new entries,
• 141 new discharges;
• 42 people in intensive care, including 14 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 8 compared to the previous day;
• 14 new entries,
• 6 new discharges;
• 12,825 samples conducted on September 28;
• 292,762 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 245,509 positive: 231 declared for yesterday, including 194 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

• 24,112 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 21,267,249 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
