GATINEAU, QC, Dec. 4, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - National Defence Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan's Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Jean Rioux, will deliver the keynote address on Canada's new defence policy in Gatineau at the École nationale d'administration publique, on December 5th at 4pm as part of a two-day international conference organized by the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur les relations internationales du Canada et du Québec (CIRRICQ). Over 40 speakers from Canada and abroad will be discussing two distinct themes:

  • the Trudeau Government's foreign and defence policies at midterm
  • the integration of Indigenous peoples in armed forces in Canada and the world

On December 5th, experts are set to evaluate the current government's international policy since Prime Minister Trudeau's election in 2015, and assess the road ahead for the next two years to come. On December 6th, the speakers will be focusing on the integration of Indigenous peoples in armed forces from different historical, sociological, political, legal and strategic perspectives.
