Notifying the Québec Firearms Registration Service of a change

You must notify the Québec Firearms Registration Service (SIAF) promptly of any changes to the information provided at the time of registration (location of the firearm, telephone number, etc.). 

You can provide notification of  a change as follows:  

If the main location where the firearm is kept has changed, this notification must be provided no later than 15 days after the change has been made.  

For any other changes to the information provided, such as the telephone number of the person who owns the weapon or the characteristics of the weapon, this notification must be transmitted no later than 30 days after the change. 

Protection of personal information

The information obtained by SIAF is used only to process your application. Failure to provide it may result in a delay or rejection of your application. Only authorized personnel have access to it. Personal information is disclosed to another organization only if such disclosure is permitted by law or if you consent.
