The Gouvernement du Québec makes its website available to all Internet users and its accessibility enables individuals with specific problems to consult the information available on it. Accessibility also compensates for certain technical constraints to facilitate navigation.
The government standard
This website has been developed pursuant to the
Government departments and bodies are responsible for ensuring the compliance of their downloadable documents.
Application of the standard
Québec.ca relies on a content management system that facilitates the widespread application of several factors that ensure compliance. For example, recourse to templates and stylesheets ensures the organization and structuring of contents that comply with the standard.
Moreover, workshops, training, and guidance are offered on a day-to-day basis to the government’s digital teams to foster the acquisition and application of good practices in the realm of accessibility.
Tools used for accessibility testing
Accessibility testing is conducted using up-to-date browsers and assistive technologies.
Version numbers are not listed because these tools evolve rapidly and the information would quickly become outdated.
Testing is conducted on an ongoing basis. Necessary corrections are made as issues are detected to comply with the Web Accessibility Standard.
