If you are interested in taking part in one of the Journées Québec missions as an employer, visit the business section.

Journées Québec are Québec government recruitment missions that enable qualified candidates to meet Québec employers looking for talent.

These virtual or face-to-face missions take place on three continents:

  • Europe;
  • Africa;
  • Latin America.

The Journées Québec are organized in collaboration with these partners:

  • Montréal International;
  • Québec International;
  • Drummond économique.

Working in Québec

By applying for jobs during one of the Journées Québec missions, you could get an interview that could lead to a job offer for a temporary position for a period of two to three years.

How to take part in the Journées Québec

Visit the Journées Québec program page – Applicants to find out about the missions taking place in your country of residence, the target employment sectors, the important dates, and the steps for submitting your application.

Eligibility

Visit the Journée Québec mission web page that interests you to find the desired employment sectors and targeted territories. Only candidates residing in the mission’s target territories and operating in the applicable sectors are eligible to participate in the mission.

Find job offers

Select the mission taking place in your country of residence. You'll find our target job sectors, important dates and steps for submitting your application.

Read job descriptions carefully, as they specify the skills required by employers.

Make sure that your profile and professional experience match the positions offered by the companies taking part in this mission.

It is possible that the jobs offered during the current mission in your country of residence do not match your profile. Don't hesitate to try your luck again, as employers and offers vary from one mission to the next.

Apply for jobs that interest you

Register or log on to the Journées Québec platform to create or update your competency profile and register for the Journées Québec mission for which you are qualified.

Once you've registered, apply for jobs that match your profile. You must make sure to do so during the registration period.

If you hold a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or a Working Holiday Permit (WHP), It is important to mention it in your cover letter.

To find out everything you need to know about registering for the event and using the platform, watch the following videos on Youtube:

Receive an invitation to a job interview

If an employer accepts your application, they will send you a message with the subject line "Invitation to a job interview". Each employer directly invites the applicants they have selected. Invitations are usually sent out about ten days before the event.

Passing a job interview

The interview will be conducted in French, unless otherwise specified in the job offer. The level of French proficiency required may vary according to the position. However, intermediate or advanced language skills are recommended.

Job interviews can be conducted in two ways:

  • In virtual mode;
  • Face-to-face, at a location designated by the Québec government.

Receiving a job offer

If you receive a promise of employment, you must obtain a temporary work permit for yourself and, if applicable, your spouse, before arriving in Québec.

The fact that you already hold a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or a Working Holiday Permit (WHP) does not mean that you will automatically get a job. Your competency profile and your experience must match the positions offered by participating employers.

Before the end of your work contract, if you wish to settle in Québec, your work experience may enable you to apply for permanent selection under the Québec Experience Program (PEQ).
