Admission

To be eligible for a program leading to a Diploma of College Studies (DCS), you must have either: 

  • a Secondary School Diploma (SSD) 
  • a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) and have passed:  
    • the Secondary V language of instruction program 
    • the Secondary V second language program 
    • the Secondary IV mathematics program 
  • received instruction the college considers equivalent 
  • instruction and experience the college considers sufficient who has interrupted full-time studies for a cumulative period of at least 24 months
  • six credits or less remaining before obtaining an SSD or for completing one of the following subjects: 
    • Secondary V language of instruction 
    • Secondary V second language 
    • Secondary IV mathematics 

Some college programs also have specific requirements for the program you choose.

To be eligible for a program leading to an Attestation of College Studies (ACS), you must meet one of the following conditions:  

  • have interrupted full-time studies or pursued post-secondary studies for at least two consecutive terms (a combination of interruption of studies and post-secondary studies is accepted)
  • hold a DVS 
  • be covered under an agreement between the college and an employer, or be benefiting from a government program

Remedial activities (PDF 497 Kb) may be offered to allow students who do not meet all the admission requirements for a program leading to a DCS or an ACS to fill in the gaps.

Activities that foster student success (PDF 497 Kb) may also be offered to allow students to acquire competencies which are considered essential for pursuing college studies.

To submit an application for admission to a CEGEP for a program leading to a Diploma of College Studies (DCS), you must complete the form for your regional admission service (RAS):

The deadlines for submitting an application for admission are as follows:

  • Fall term: March 1 
  • Winter term: November 1
