This training is intended for all members of governing boards and principals and directors of educational institutions. It is designed to help them exercise the functions and powers conferred on them by the Education Act.
The training material comprises videos, a notebook and information sheets. The training is available at any time during the school year and provides governing boards with guidelines for dealing with issues as they arise. Each governing board is asked to organize the training sessions with the support of its school service centre. For more information, consult the Overview of the training for governing board members (PDF 207 Kb).
This training is part of the major changes that have been made in Québec’s new model of school governance. It reaffirms the importance of supporting governing boards in carrying out their mandates, so that they can make the best possible decisions in the interest of all students.
