Resources for Teachers and Other Concerned Professionals
Teachers and other concerned professionals can adapt their methods in order to facilitate the integration of students with disabilities. This section lists various means and tools used for this purpose.
Most universities have published one or more guides for teachers and other concerned professionals. They are available on their respective websites.
Some educational institutions also share inclusive pedagogical practices and approaches that sometimes come with training. For example:
- Offering various options with respect to language, mathematical expressions and symbols (e.g. glossaries, lexicons, etc.)
- Highlighting the importance of having learning objectives
- Fostering collaboration between students in order to support effort and perseverance
- Using flexible evaluation methods that provide precise and ongoing information in order to determine the comprehension and knowledge of students with disabilities
