Job description

These individuals diagnose, treat, and prevent neuromusculoskeletal (NMS) disorders. They assess the associated dysfunctions and determine the appropriate treatment plan. They perform corrective manipulations related to the spine, nervous system, and joints in order to maintain or restore health. They are self-employed or work in private clinics, in collaboration with other health professionals.

Main tasks

• Gather information about a patient's medical history and their reason for consulting.
• Perform physical and radiological examinations, as required.
• Evaluate the patient’s body function and determine their chiropractic needs.
• Recommend a treatment plan and exercises tailored to the patient’s needs.
• Perform various manual therapy techniques such as spinal manipulations (chiropractic adjustment), mobilizations, soft tissue work, etc.
• Monitor the patient’s progress and modify treatment, if necessary.
• Make recommendations and provide health advice.
• Refer the patient to other health professionals, if required.
