Rights and obligations regarding Canadian Emergency Benefits

People benefitting from one of the Ministère’s social assistance programs may have simultaneously received benefits from one of said programs and sums from one of the following Canadian emergency benefit programs:

  • Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)
  • Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)
  • Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB)
  • Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB)
  • Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB)

If, between March 15, 2020 and May 7, 2022, you were benefitting from one of the Ministère’s social assistance programs and you received sums from at least one of these Canadian emergency benefit programs, you may have to repay the sums you received. Contact an agent from the Centre de communication avec la clientèle if you are receiving a claim from a federal government department or agency for sums paid under the CERB, CESB, CRB, CRCB or CRSB.

Claims regarding sums paid under the Canadian emergency benefits are not made at the same time by both levels of government. You can inform us about a change in your situation at any time.
