Biography of René Sylvestre

René Sylvestre was appointed as Québec’s Delegate to New England in September 2024; serving as Québec’s representative in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Immediately prior to becoming Delegate in New England, Mr. Sylvestre served as Director of the Québec Government Office in Singapore since 2018. He was previously Director of Foreign Direct Investment at the Québec Government Office in New York.

Mr. Sylvestre has an extensive experience in corporate strategy, finance, business development, government relations, consulting, and negotiation having worked with various organizations ranging from Fortune 500 and small medium businesses to economic development organizations.

In New England, Mr. Sylvestre leads a team responsible with fostering political, cultural, institutional exchanges as well as regional commercial development, primarily in the sectors of life sciences, tech, energy, sustainable transportation, construction, aerospace and agrifood.

Mr. Sylvestre holds an executive MBA from the National University of Singapore (NUS), as well as a bachelor’s degree in economic science and Canadian and Québec political science from Ottawa University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from HEC Montréal.
