The Québec Family Information Liaison Unit

In the wake of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, the Department of Justice Canada called on Canadian provinces to establish Family Information Liaison Units (FILUs) to provide support to families of victims seeking information from agencies and services.

In Québec, this mandate was initially assigned to the Ministère de la Justice’s crime victims assistance office, or BAVAC (Bureau d’aide aux victimes d’actes criminels), which established the Québec Family Information Liaison Unit (QFILU) Read the content of the note 1 .
