Financial Aid for Housing
Low-income households may be eligible for financial assistance to help with rent payments or the costs of emergency temporary housing or storage.
Assistance for Paying Rent
You are spending too much of your budget on rent and you are in one of the following situations:
- Single person aged 50 or over
- Couple where at least one person is aged 50 or over
- Couple with at least one dependent child
- Single-parent family with at least one dependent child
You could receive up to $170 per month to help you pay your rent through the Shelter Allowance Program. Find out about it!
Emergency Assistance to Pay Housing or Storage Costs
Do you need to move but still have not found housing? Your municipality may be able to help pay for some costs through the Temporary Accommodation and Housing Search Assistance Program.
Eligible expenses are costs related to:
- Moving and secure storage of property and furniture for homeless households
- Temporary housing
