Government cheques

To find out why a cheque was issued, verify the internal account number in the upper right-hand corner of the cheque. The number will identify the department or organization responsible for the account, which you can then contact. Consult the following page for a list of numerical codes on cheques issued by the Québec government (available in French only): Code numérique inscrit sur les chèques du gouvernement du Québec.
