Public Hearing on May 7, 2024
The Panel of Experts on Automobile Insurance Contributions is holding a public hearing on May 7, 2024, to hear individuals and groups who have submitted a brief as part of the public consultation on the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec’s (SAAQ) proposed insurance contributions for the years 2025 to 2027.
The public hearing will be held live on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. It will be broadcast on YouTube 
and recorded for later viewing.
The public consultation was held online on the government’s public consultation platform from March 20 to April 19, 2024. The deadline for submitting a brief or comment was April 19, 2024, at 5 p.m.
According to the Act respecting the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, before modifying insurance contributions, the SAAQ must obtain the opinion of a panel of experts formed for this purpose. Its mandate consists of reviewing the approach followed by the SAAQ for establishing insurance contributions and verifying the data used to support the planned regulatory changes.
The modifications proposed by the SAAQ are presented in an information document entitled Insurance contributions proposed for 2025-2027 .
The Expert Council plans to release its report in early July 2024.
