Aire ouverte: free health and wellness services for young people aged 12 to 25

Aire ouverte is a place for young people aged 12 to 25. Health services that a young person may need to ensure their well-being are offered free of charge and confidentially, walk-in or appointment basis.

Services offered

Each Aire ouverte centre has been developed with the participation of young people to offer flexible services adapted to their reality as well as to meet their needs in relation to:

The team is available to offer them warm support, listen to them and help them find solutions.

Mental health

Young people who feel overwhelmed by negative emotions or thoughts can get help at an Aire ouverte centre. There is no need to have a mental health diagnosis to get support.

A few examples of situations where an Aire ouverte centre can help:

  • anxiety and stress
  • depression
  • suicide prevention
  • self-harm
  • low self-esteem
  • insomnia
  • concerns about the mental health of a loved one

Sexual health

An Aire ouverte centre offers sexual health services, in particular to obtain or learn about:

  • contraception,
  • screening
  • sexual and gender identity
  • pregnancy tests
  • terminations of pregnancy
  • condoms
  • healthy romantic and sexual relationships

Substance use

An Aire ouverte centre can help and support young people who are questioning or worried about their:

  • use of cigarettes, including vaping
  • drinking
  • drug use
  • gambling
  • screen or Internet use, etc.

Relationship issues

The Aire ouverte team can help young people who are going through conflicts (family, romantic partners, etc.), whether violent or not, or who are experiencing bullying.

Other needs

At an Aire ouverte centre, young people will find support for any kind of need other than those mentioned above. For example, for all kinds of questions, for any distress or concerns for themselves or for a loved one, the Aire ouverte team will be able to meet their needs.

How to get help

Teens, young adults, but also their families and friends, can get support and services adapted to their needs:

  • in person, by telephone or virtually
  • walk-in or appointment basis
  • at the place of their choice
  • in all regions of Québec

Aire ouverte services are available on a flexible schedule and without waitlist. Aire ouverte opening hours are adjusted to suit the hours young people are available. Teleconsultation services and appointment scheduling by email or text message are generally offered.

Aire ouverte centres are often located in places that are easy to get to on foot, by public transport or by car. In addition, each Aire ouverte centre is accessible to everyone: young people can go to the Aire ouverte centre of their choice, regardless of where they come from.

The Aire ouverte team is available to listen and help find solutions, without judgment and regardless of the person’s situation, occupation or condition.
