Mandatory registration of persons vaccinated

The vaccines that you have received or will receive before January 1, 2019 will be in the Québec Vaccination Registry if recorded in a computerized file. Starting January 1, 2019, all vaccines received will be recorded in the registry. Once the vaccine has been administered, you cannot refuse to have it recorded in the registry.

The registry includes all persons who receive vaccines in Québec. Québec residents who receive vaccines outside the province will also be in the registry. This includes vaccines received in schools or in private clinics. These vaccinations will be recorded in the registry once a Québec health professional (e.g., doctor or nurse) is made aware of it and verifies that the vaccine has indeed been given.

It is important that you keep your vaccination card and those of your children in a safe place and that you keep them up to date. The Québec Vaccination Registry does not replace these cards.

The Vaccination Registry does not remove health care institutions’ legal obligation to maintain client files up to date.
